Service is the rent you pay for room on this Earth. I am, was and always will be a catalyst for change. ~ Honorable Shirley Chisholm, Congressperson, Educator
You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time. ~ Dr. Angela Davis, Activist, Educator
Every day as Principal of Cheremoya Avenue Elementary, I seek to re-humanization of mathematics for historically excluded students by integrating mathematics, social-emotional learning (SEL), and mindfulness. I believe the integration of SEL and mathematics can change the trajectory of children’s lives.
I consider myself to be an innovative Constructivist educational leader who is tenaciously and profoundly dedicated to mindful inquiry-based learning to engender formidable mathematics identities with an emphasis on nurturing wholeness and view classrooms as spaces of healing and restoration.
