The Year of Leadership:

  • Published the leadership position paper, “Improving Student Achievement by Leading Highly Effective Assessment Practices”.
  • Published the leadership position paper, “Improving Student Achievement in Mathematics for Students with Special Needs”.
  • Wrote and distributed “Becoming a PRIME Leader”.
  • Instituted the NCSM Display Booth at the annual conference to promote membership, events, and products.
  • Participated in the NCTM Equity Summit to establish an Equity Coalition of mathematics education organization.
  • Launched Leadership Seminars at NCTM regional conferences.
  • Held the 12th NCSM Leadership Academy “Become a PRIME Leader: Building Professional Learning Communities for Equity and Excellence” (July 15-18, 2008 at the Zermatt Resort & Conference Destination, Midway, UT and July 27-August 1, 2008 at the Marriott Hunt Valley Inn, Hunt Valley, MD).
  • Established the NCSM Linked-In Group.
  • Launched the NCSM Twitter account.
